With the annual Fall Cotillion right around the corner, it’s easy to get excited! Below are some tips to make sure your night rocks!

Find the perfect dress.

We’ve all heard the phrase “dress well, test well.” Well, be sure to follow suit and find the perfect dress to represent all the best parts of you! I suggest getting a little number that makes you feel like an absolute queen when you step a foot right out that dorm. For me: my go-to is the iconic LRD, “Little Red Dress.” It’s just something about the color red that’s sure to knock them dead. (Not to be confused with its equally iconic counterpart the “little black dress.”)

Get ready with friends!

Make the perfect playlist to get you pumped for the night ahead of you! If you don’t have a Spotify account; I highly recommend you getting one. The best part is, it’s completely free and full of pre-made party lists to get you in the mood to dance the night away! Some of the best memories I have are getting ready with my girls; friends always seem to have a way of making everything so much better!

Check out the food bar.

Nom, nom, nom. Did I just hear somebody say food? To be honest, I’m a complete foody and honestly what’s a dance without an open bar.. of food, that is. Be sure to chow down before getting down.

Dance the night away.

I don’t care if you chicken dance or Ju Ju on that Beat. Whatever your style is, let it shine and don’t let anyone take away your thunder. Never be afraid to show people how you bust a move. Remember: this night is about you!

Go with the perfect date!

Whether you go with the boy you’ve been eyeing up from a far for months or with you best group of gal friends, be sure to choose the perfect date for you! It’s a night to remember after all so choose wisely because who needs all those crappy, drama-filled memories swirling around in your noggin.

Remember to grab your Cotillion Cup!

As the night is coming to a close, remember to claim your own little memento to commemorate the night! Tip: try collecting cups throughout the years and set them around your dorm for decoration.

No get out there and bust a move HCSVC!

St Vincent '18

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
