Homecoming Tips

Stay Hydrated

Homecoming is a long day. Not only are you out late on Friday visiting old Bearcats, you’re going to be up early on Saturday morning for a long day. Making sure you’re drinking a ton of water will make you hang on until the weekend is over.

Be Open to Meeting New People

If you’re a freshman, homecoming can be a lot different than you expect. Campus is hustling with thousands of Bearcats! It can be overwhelming to see so many new faces at your “home.” However, the people here have been in your position before so they will be more than happy to show you how awesome it is to be a Bearcat.

Wear your Green and Gold

School pride is something you should have at all times, but during homecoming it’s über important. If you don’t have something St. Vincent yet, check your closet for green and gold or head over to the bookstore to get some new apparel!

Go to the Football Game

As the football game is about to start, find your place on the hill and stay there to see the Bearcats take on Case Western Reserve University. During half time the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned. This is a honored tradition that you won’t want to miss out on.

Volunteer for your Club

Clubs will be partaking in the homecoming carnival! It’s a lot of fun because there are so many activities, yummy treats, and prizes. If you’re a part of a club, you’ll be asked to help participate in the club’s booth. This is a great opportunity to show your involvement and be a part of something awesome.

St Vincent '18

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
