Her Campus (HC): Hi! Thanks for letting Her Campus St. Vincent interview you. We are so excited to get to share with everyone just how awesome you are.

(HC): What brought you to Saint Vincent College?

(EH): When I toured Saint Vincent College I felt very much at home and I really liked the atmosphere of the campus. I knew when I sat down and talked one-on-one with Dr. Arcara for the first time that the Mathematics department was for me. The department was so encouraging and concerned about my future. I couldn’t be happier with my choice to come to Saint Vincent!

(HC): Who are your biggest inspirations?

(EH): My biggest inspirations would have to be my parents. It is hard to put into words all they have inspired in me, they have molded and shaped me into the person I am today and who I hope to be in the future. They have worked so hard to give me everything and more, and I hope to one day be able to repay them for all they have done for me. They have shown me how hard work and dedication can lead to extraordinary things. They have supported me through everything, and they mean the world to me.

(HC): 5 words to describe yourself

(EH): Five words I would use to describe myself would be dedicated, confident, kind-hearted, open-minded, and easy going. When it comes to school work or a sport I am very dedicated to being the very best I can be , and I work hard until I am satisfied with the outcome. I would say I am confident because I feel like everyone should be, everyone is beautiful and they should love themselves. Why spend your life not being confident?! I would say I am kind-hearted because I love volunteering and helping people.  I volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club back home and I absolutely love it! Lastly, I would describe myself as open-minded and easy going due to the fact that I love meeting new people and making new friends. Everyone’s different and everyone needs someone to talk to and I enjoy being that person!

(HC): Where would you travel to if you had an unlimited budget, and why?

(EH): I would travel to India if I had an unlimited budget. I have always wanted to travel to India because the culture is fascinating. In high school, we did a project called “country in a bag” and I chose India because I was so interested in  this country. I learned so much about the culture and the country itself. I became so fascinated  with India that I made it a goal that one day I would visit it and partake in the amazing culture  and the many attractions it has to offer.

(HC): Who’s your best friend?

(EH): My best friend would have to be my roommate, Stephanie Mitchell. She is just one blessing that Saint Vincent has brought into my life. We met freshmen year  and we instantly became the best of friends. I am so blessed to have her as my best friend because she’s the one I cry, laugh, and confide in. She’s always there for me whenever I need her, and she has always had my back in every situation. I am so thankful for her, and I couldn’t imagine calling anyone else my best friend.

(HC): If you had to have lunch with anyone at Saint Vincent, who would it be and why?

(EH): If I had to have lunch with someone at Saint Vincent, I would choose to have lunch with Br. Norman. Every time I see Br. Norman walk around campus he always takes time out of his day to stop me and ask how I am and how my classes are. He is so kind-hearted and concerned about the students on the Saint Vincent Campus.

St Vincent '18

Hello there! I am the Campus Correspondent of the Her Campus chapter at Saint Vincent College. As a senior psychology major, I've made the most of my time in undergrad and am excited for all the doors I have opening ahead of me. I can definitely thank Her Campus for giving me invaluable skills. As a future psychologist, I hope that my articles (and the chapter's) are able to make you feel empowered, motivate you to start a conversation, and be kind. As a hero of mine has said, "If you do not take control over your time and your life, other people will gobble it up. If you don't prioritize yourself, you constantly start falling lower and lower on your list."- Michelle Obama. Be the change you want to see in the world, and smile. Always smile!
