5 Ways to Stay in Touch Over Summer Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Vincent chapter.

With summer right around the corner, it can be hard to stay in touch with the ones you love. Between vacations, family gatherings, and summer jobs…it can get pretty hectic really quickly. Check out 5 ways to stay in touch with your gal pals over the summer!

1. Skype

At the end of a long week, a nice one-on-one chat with friends is exactly the medicine you need to rejuvenate. It’s fast, free, and a great alternative to FaceTime. Want to video-chat with more than one friend? Try out Google+ hangouts!

2. Snapchat

With Snapchat, you can keep everyone updated on your fun summer adventures. Whether you’re soaking up the sun at the beach or cozying up to a nice book at your local coffee shop; snap a pic!

3. Group Chat

No time for a skype-sesh? Try group chatting! Group chats are a fun and simple way to keep in touch with your friends while on the go. Plus, they are the perfect way to create some new beloved inside jokes.

4. Postcards and Letters

“Greetings from….” Is all that comes to mind when I think of receiving postcards in the mail. I love the extra added personal touch. There’s just something special about the thought involved when writing letters for someone. Let someone know they’re special by taking the time out of your day to tell them you’re thinking about them, even if it’s from another state or half way around the world!

5. Meet Ups

There’s nothing like some face-to-face interaction with your best gal pals. Sometimes the screen just isn’t enough and won’t cut it. Try scheduling a get together and catch up on all the craziness that is life.
