Thando’s Tunes: NACA News

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.
Last weekend six members of SGA, including myself, attended the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) conference in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to staying in awesome hotel and having our restaurant tab picked up by the school (I know you’re jealous) we saw enough live entertainment to last us a lifetime!

We spent four days watching comedians, musicians, and magicians put on countless shows in an effort to publicize themselves. There was a wide variety of music from pop-rock to hip hop – something for all tastes! After each performance set we had the opportunity to meet the musicians, talk about their music, and establish connections for potentially booking them.

Here are some of my favorite groups from the convention:

1. Lady Danville  (very sweet indie-pop trio!) :

2. Barcelona (for those of you that like Northwest alternative with a hint of Keane):

3. John West (I refer to him as the Robin Thicke-a-like. Their sound is really similar so if you like Robin Thicke you’d like him!) :
