Top 10 Halloween Candies That Are A Must Keep!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. John's chapter.

What makes Halloween so distinctive? For me, it was always candy and movies. When I was younger, I used to dress up and go around with friends and siblings. However, this year due to COVID-19 a few friends and I decided we could celebrate instead with movies. So, I decided to rank my favorite Halloween candy to get for Halloween this year.

10. Milk Duds

I completely love Milk Duds. This was the best combination if you love caramel and chocolate. The only reason it’s a number ten is that as much as the size of the duds make you want to eat a handful at once, you simply can’t. It gets stuck in your teeth and it takes an eternity to get them out. But, sometimes there needs to be a little bit of pain for the right candy.

9. Laffy Taffy

Although you may have to have a specific sense of humor to get the jokes on the back of the packaging, you cannot deny the countless times spent on looking at every taffy you got for a new joke. Laffy Taffy is a childhood favorite with classic flavors. However, it is at number nine for one reason. The Banana Flavored Laffy Taffy.

If you’ve tasted this one you know.

8. M & M‘s

Unlike Milk Duds, you can eat a handful of M&M’s at once. You can also put M&M’s in some of your favorite desserts to decorate it. The versatility makes the M&M’s so great.

7. Tootsie Rolls

Tootsie Rolls satisfy the internal conflict of whether you would rather eat candy or chocolate. They have both rolled in one. They have your classic chocolate while also giving you flavors such as Lime, Vanilla, and Lemon. If you wanted a more candy aesthetic, they had your classic tootsie roll in a lollipop shape and creation.

6. Crunch

The ASMR is self-explanatory.

Something about Crunch makes it hard to put down. It could be the slight crisp of the wafer or the sound it makes. Either way, this list needs to have a crunch here.

5. Starbursts

The strawberry and cherry flavor was the best combination to get hands down.

4. Kit Kat

Not only was the texture addicting but you could also share the other half with a friend.

3. Jolly rancher

Truly the blueberry raspberry flavor was the best flavor.

2. Skittles

Who else wouldn’t like Skittles? It’s small enough that you eat a bunch and large enough you could share.

1. Twix

I specifically remember switching every chocolate bar for Twix. It truly never gets old. This is self-explanatory.
