You’re assistant director of the upcoming play here on campus, Cat in the Hat. Can you tell us a little bit about your role and your expectations for the play?: “Yes, this is my first experience with directing. In some ways it’s easier than I expected and some ways it isn’t. It’s easier in the sense that my responsibilities are simpler than I thought. I’m not directly in charge but I do need to know what is going on so that in the event I do need to take charge I know what I’m talking about. I’m mostly learning though. I love it and I’m absorbing a lot. I see all that goes into the process of putting on a show, all that the director has to do in addition to the rehearsals. A lot of hours, attention, effort and even heart goes into the process, especially when no one is looking. A lot of elements go into the finished product. If you don’t concentrate on those things, then it is rather difficult to create something worthy of being seen by others.”
