New Fashion Trends of Spring 2021: Amidst a Pandemic

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St. John's chapter.

The digital enterprises of fashion made major breakthroughs in the ongoing heat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing restrictions forced many shows to be canceled, and left many businesses in economic strains. However, this didn’t stop the industry from finding ways to make things work. With the evolution of social media playing a huge part in salvaging fashion, things started to look up. The stage has been set and lit for Spring 2021 fashion trends to make a much-anticipated appearance.

New fashion trends were formed through livestream shows, socially distanced in-person runway shows, Instagram releases, and wide platform conversations on YouTube. Designers tend to be inspired by moments and with no exception to COVID-19 have managed to use social media as a playground to share their creativity.
