The life of a college student is never easy. With constant deadlines and piles of homework, it’s rare to have a work-free day to yourself. Despite these challenges college students face, it is still possible for us to indulge in self-care. Here are some self-care recommendations that have given me some peace of mind when my stress levels are at their peak!
- Go on A Solo Date
A solo date is a great way to show yourself some appreciation. A solo date could consist of giving yourself a manicure, going out to eat, going to a museum, etc. If you don’t love yourself first, then who will?
- Write Poetry
Poetry is an outlet that can help release all of the pent-up frustrations that are troubling you. It can spark a sense of self-awareness and act as a guide to staying in tune with your feelings. There’s power in our words that are a force to be reckoned with.
- Plan A Friends Night Out
A night out with the girls is the cure to relieving any stress that you are feeling. Friends can act as a support system that you can depend on through any obstacle you endure in college.
- A Social Media Detox
When you deactivate all social media accounts, it can allow you to cleanse yourself from the negativity on the internet. This can also open the door to forming real connections with people.
- Shop Til’ You Drop!
A nice shopping spree allows you to indulge yourself in your wants and needs. Sometimes due to the things going on in life, we tend to stop treating ourselves. However, giving yourself a nice gift can put a smile on your face!
The college experience can be different for everyone, but I think it’s worth the ride. In spite of the tedious work one must put into their education, that hard work will pay off the moment you walk across that stage with that diploma in your hands. We are almost at the end of the semester, so let’s finish strong!
