I can’t take any claim for this apron; it was in fact made by my wonderfully talented aunt François, who buys all her material from the south of France while visiting her mother in Toulon (she is French, and therefore more sophisticated). She is an incredible sewer, with creations spanning from sun umbrellas to a wide spectrum of coloured trousers that even the Kate Kennedy Club would be proud of. I hope that the bright Provence-style apron inspires you to delicious French cooking…
Things you need:
- Sewing machine
- Fabric
- Scissors
- Thread
- Pins
Firstly cut out the main piece of fabric. Sew on and attach the pocket, ensuring not to sew over the top. Then attach the emblem, and the contrasting fabric at the top and the bottom.
After this, taper around the bottom of the apron to ensure that you have a neat edge.
Finally attach the ties around the neck and around the waist, and get cooking!
