Campus Cutie: Jamye Bingham

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Southern Miss chapter.

Jamye Bingham is a bubbly, energetic junior nursing major at Southern Miss. Read on to find out what Jamye does in her free time and why she decided to go Greek.

Classification: Junior

Major: Nursing

Hometown: Brandon, Miss.

Relationship Status: In a Relationship

Her Campus: What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Jamye Bingham: It would be the fact that I am very shy but also very goofy. I love to laugh and I enjoy being around people with great spirits.

HC: What do you do in your free time?

JB: I am definitely listening to music. Music is like therapy for me.

HC: Why did you decide to join a Greek organization?

JB: I wanted to be a part of something that was much bigger than myself. I have the desire to help the community and uplift the image of African American women. I was so impressed with the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority that I decided to do a little research to see what they were about. I witnessed the service that they put forth and the leadership qualities they exemplified.  Long story short, I fell in love with the sisterhood and the standard that the ladies upheld.

HC: Where is a place you’ve always wanted to travel to and why?

JB: I have always wanted to travel to Las Vegas. Remember, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

HC: What’s the most important thing in your life right now?

JB: My health and success.

HC: How would your friends describe you?

JB: My friends would describe me as kind, honest, determined and outgoing.

HC: What’s your favorite memory?

JB: Celebrating my 21st birthday with my sorority sisters and friends.
