Is USC Battle Ready?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

Any true Gamecock will jump at the chance to put those Tigers to shame, and what better way than the Carolina-Clemson Blood Battle?

The school that donates the most blood wins, and we have defeated Clemson every year since 2008—now is no time to stop! This competition is just as important as the football game, and USC has the perfect opportunity to show Clemson that we are the best on and off the field!

The blood battle is a great representation of what our student body is capable of when we all come together. Donating blood is an easy way to give back to the community and show pride for our school. Plus, if you don’t feel comfortable or are unable to give blood, you can still get involved by volunteering to help.

It’s super easy to take part in this event. All you need is a student ID and you’re good to go! There will be donation spots in Russell House, TCoop, Blatt, Greek Village and more. For specific information on times and locations for donation check out: http://www.sa.sc.edu/fsl/carolina-clemson-blood-drive/

This annual competition has been a tradition at USC since 1985 and has allowed us to help others while keeping the Gamecock vs. Tiger rivalry strong. So be sure to mark your calendars; the battle is from Nov. 17-24! Donating blood will help in more ways than you can imagine…plus we can kick some Tiger butt in the process!
