TikTok Beauty and Skincare Hacks

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

TikTok is a place for artistry and entertainment, but also for tips and tricks to make life easier. These hacks for beauty and skincare are gaining popularity lately. Keep reading to see how these tips may help simplify your routine or learn easier beauty techniques.

Meredith Duxbury Foundation Trend

  • This has been all over TikTok recently. Meredith Duxbury is a makeup artist on TikTok who is known for her extensive amount of foundation. There has been a lot of controversy over this technique because some people believe that she is only using this method for TikTok fame and that she washes it off after she films her videos. Meredith’s technique for a super full-coverage glam is to first apply primer. She then goes in with 10 pumps of foundation. She blends it in with her hands first, then goes in with a makeup brush and a damp beauty blender. She then puts contour on her forehead and on her cheekbones and blends that in with another makeup brush and a soft sponge. She puts liquid blush on the apples of her cheeks and applies powder with a powder puff. She then puts on her powder products and her brows. After all of that, she does her eyes and lips.

Tape Hack for Perfect Contour

  • Alexandra Milek is a beauty content creator and a makeup artist. Alexandra uses her Tik Tok account to teach people makeup tricks and she tries viral hacks for makeup. Alexandra Milek starts this hack by using a long strand of tape and putting it in her mouth, lifting up as she applies. She puts her contour above the tape, peels off the tape, and blends the contour. Lastly, she sets it with a pressed powder. This technique gives sharp and structured cheekbones to define the face.

Face Ice Bath

  • Kenz Lawren is a model on Tik Tok who uses her platform to teach modeling and beauty tips that she has learned from being in the industry. Kenz Lawren explains how rubbing ice on your face can reduce inflammation and shrink pores. She says that you can do this morning or night after cleansing. She says that this will make your skin look amazing.

Double Cleansing

  • Alisha is a beauty content creator on Tik Tok who uses her platform to share beauty hacks, tips, and her daily life. I have seen this hack all over Tik Tok with people claiming that this has saved their skin. Alisha’s approach says to double cleanse at night. She explains to start off with an oil cleanser to remove makeup and oil. She then says to follow with a water-based cleanser to get rid of dirt and sweat left on the skin. This leaves the skin feeling clean and looking refreshed.
