Let’s talk about comfort food. After each failed test, bad breakup or long day at work, it is always there for you. It is great knowing that there is always something reliable that you can reach for when you are having a hard day, but after a whole month of bad days, your delicious comfort pizza may not seem as delicious or comforting anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against pizza, but sometimes it is necessary to switch things up every once in a while. Try out these recipes using Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala for a take on your favorites!

Pizza

To me, pizza is the ultimate comfort food. Spice things up a bit by adding a new flavor profile to this classic dish!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala
  • 2 Naan flatbreads
  • 1 large chili pepper, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Cilantro to taste

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F
  • Drizzle the flatbreads with olive oil
  • Evenly distribute the Channa Masala between the flatbreads
  • Top the flatbreads with the shredded mozzarella
  • Bake for about 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted
  • Top with sliced chili pepper and cilantro
Loaded Cheese Fries

As Regina George once said: “Whatever, I’m getting cheese fries.” Swap your regular cheesy fries dish for a unique take on this comfort food.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala
  • 6 oz. sweet potato fries
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 mango diced
  • 1 large chili pepper
  • Lime juice to taste
  • Cilantro to taste

Instructions:

  • Make sweet potato fries according to package
  • Preheat oven to 400°F
  • Cover fries in cheese and channa masala
  • Bake for about 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted
  • Top with mango, greek yogurt, chili pepper, cilantro, and lime juice and serve
Avocado toast

This is my favorite comfort food for when I am in desperate need of some veggies. Try adding some channa masala for extra veggies and flavor!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala
  • 2 slices of sourdough bread toasted
  • 1 avocado
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Chili lime seasoning to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cilantro to taste

Instructions:

  • Prepare the channa masala according to the package and set aside
  • In a bowl, combine the avocado, lime juice, chili lime seasoning, salt, and pepper
  • Add half of the avocado mixture and half of the channa masala onto one piece of toast
  • Repeat on the other toast
  • Top both toasts with cilantro and serve
Tacos

Did someone say Taco Tuesday? Amp up Tuesday’s favorite food by incorporating some fresh Indian flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala
  • 3 small tortillas
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 mango, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • The juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Prepare the channa masala according to the package and set aside
  • Heat up the tortillas
  • In a bowl, mix together mango, red onion, tomato, lime juice, cilantro, salt, and pepper to make a salsa
  • Distribute the channa masala between the tortillas
  • Top the tacos with salsa and greek yogurt and serve
Grilled Cheese

Who doesn’t love cheese and bread? Give your grilled cheese some love by adding a twist!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 package of Tasty Bite’s Channa Masala
  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp mayonaise

Instructions:

  • Cover both sides of each slice of bread in mayonnaise
  • Lay each slice of bread on the pan and toast on both sides
  • Add cheese to both slices
  • Add the channa masala to one slice
  • Cook on a medium heat until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted
  • Cover the channa masala slice with the other and remove from heat
  • Cut in half and serve
