Google’s April Fool’s Fail

Yesterday was the notorious pranking holiday. And in the spirit of April Fools, Google attempted to create a joke of its own.

Google created an email feature where users could respond to emails with an animated “mic drop” of a minion. However, there is a catch. If the people receiving your mic drop attempted to respond, users would not get the message. This caused a stir of upset users who thought their emails would be gone forever.

The situation escalated so far that Google had to publically apologize for their joke:

April Fool’s is a fun holiday, but Google clearly missed the mark. Better luck next year?
