FBI Broke Into San Bernadino iPhone Without Apple

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

The FBI announced earlier this week that it broke into the iPhones of the San Bernadino shooters without any help from Apple.

Earlier this year, Apple and the FBI got into a lawsuit regarding the legality of breaking into an iPhone and creating a backdoor that could potentially break into any iPhone.

Apple refused to help the FBI try to hack the San Bernandino shooter’s phone because they said it was against their privacy policy. The FBI sued Apple, but then ended the lawsuit when they hacked into the phone without Apple.

This raises privacy problems for iPhone users everywhere. If you can break into one iPhone, technically you can break into them all. It is expected that further problems with government privacy and breaking into phones for the sake of crime related instances will now become issues in the coming future.

We will make sure to keep you updated so you know just how private the contents of your iPhone are!
