7 Motivational Quotes To Help Get You Through the Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sonoma chapter.

“An entire sea of water can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can’t put you down unless you allow it to get inside you.”Goi Nasu

You might feel like all the negativity around you is bringing you down. Whether it’s negative criticism, feedback, or any other type of negative energy, don’t let it get to you! Instead, use that negativity to help you grow. Just keep in mind that an entire sea of water can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside of it.

“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, its always your choice.”  Wayne Dyer

If you want change in your life, you have the power to make that change happen. Be proactive! You have the option to be miserable and unsatisfied or completely satisfied with yourself and your life. It is up to you to go out there and get the life you want!

“Never let a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life.” – unknown

We all have those days where all we want to do is scream and are angry at the world. You might feel like your life sucks, and that nothing will make you feel better. Keep in mind that your life probably isn’t as bad as you think. When you’re having a bad day, make a list of things you are thankful for and watch your frown turn upside down.

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life – to be happy – its all that matters.” Audrey Hepburn

It’s your life that you are living, so do whatever it is that makes you happy! One of my biggest issues is that I often care too much about what other people will think of me. So recently, I dyed my hair and even got a piercing I would have never thought about getting. I realized I’m too young to not do the things that bring me joy. So get out there and do something that makes you smile!

“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ’Til your good is better and your better is best.” – St. Jerome

My mom always tells me, “no hagas algo si no le vas a hechar ganas” which means “do not do something if you are not going to give it your best effort. If you have a writing assignment, project, or anything else to do don’t stop working on it because you think that what you have is good enough. If it’s good, make it better! Don’t stop until you are satisfied and know it is perfect.

“Everything will be alrightSo baby get some sleep tonight” – G-Eazy

These song lyrics from the song, “Marilyn” by G-Eazy always comfort me when I’m having a bad day. We often overthink and stress ourselves out over situations that we do not have control of. Whether it’s intense family problems, relationship issues, or any other obstacle, don’t forget that everything will be all right. It may not be now or tomorrow but eventually things will get better. Don’t lose sleep over something that you cannot change and stay remember to stay optimistic.

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison

It is so important to never give up. Our mistakes and our failures should never stop us, only give us motivation to get back up and try again. When you’re feeling like you want to give up, just remember that if you just keep pushing forward you will make it!
