What to Pack for Thanksgiving Break (Without Over Packing)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

The holidays mean no class, no worries, sleeping in your own bed and not needing shower shoes. But sometimes, the preparing to go home is the hardest part. Hopefully this article will de-stress packing and offer some fashion inspiration for thanksgiving break.

Packing like a pro:

Start by thinking about how many days you’ll be home or on vacation and what kind of things you’ll be doing. Tip: you’ll never need or wear as many clothes as you think you will. Only pack what you’ll actually need. For example, take one pair of leggings, not two or more. The same applies to boots, jeans, heavy jackets, etc. You can wear these more than once in a week and no one will notice! It always helps to plan out exact outfits while packing so you don’t end up just throwing all the tops you like into your suitcase because you can’t decide which to take. Tip: if you do end up getting stuck in this situation and run out of room in your bag, it’s always a good idea to wear your boots or carry on big jackets onto the plane. That way you’ll have extra space in your bag and won’t have to worry about going over the bag weight limit!

With all that said, here’s some outfit inspiration for different thanksgiving activities.
