Mardi Gras in Burlington

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

It’s that time of year again, collegiettes! Burlington’s 18th annual Mardi Gras celebration is hitting Church St. the weekend of March 1 – 3.

From the Friday night concert to the notoriously popular parade on Saturday, Mardi Gras in Burlington is an event you don’t want to miss. With over 25,000 attending the event in recent years, Mardi Gras brings the community together to celebrate with friends, floats, food, and also funds for a good cause!

Profits from the weekend-long celebration benefit the Hope Works non-profit organization, which works towards ending sexual violence. Celebrating downtown while also giving back, what could be better than that?

So, start planning that Mardi Gras outfit, ladies! Heading down to Church St. on Saturday means a day full of performances, a costume contest, a free photo booth, and of course a ton of Mardi Gras beads!
