Even in the tech-filled world of 2022, you will still see people taking handwritten notes in your classes, and you may even take handwritten notes yourself. These may even be better than digital notes, as several studies have found that handwritten notes improve memorization. On top of that, if you have been on social media in the past few years, you have probably seen the trend of aesthetically pleasing notes. Whether it be TikTok, Instagram or Pinterest, we have all seen the reels of beautiful headers and neat blocks of chemistry or biology or English notes. We have all wanted to have “those notes” at one point or another, and having the right supplies can help you get there.
Pens
A good pen is a great place to start when it comes to neat note-taking. The ones that I personally prefer for note-taking are the G2 Pilot premium gel roller pens, specifically their fine line ones, since they last forever and give me good control over my writing. I use the black pens, but Pilot has several different colored pen options as well. These pens are great if you struggle to get that thin handwriting that is extremely popular on social media right now.
The pens that I have seen used most in social media are the Staedtler triplus fineliner pens. These are multicolored pens, have a fine gel tip and can be found at Target if you want to grab them in person. These pens also come in a multicolor pack, so they are great for adding a pretty header or giving your notes a little bit of pizzazz!
Highlighters
My personal favorite highlighters, and the ones I have seen most frequently on the socials, are the Zebra mildliner pens. These highlighters can be found pretty much everywhere at this point, and they come in different colored packs. The best thing about the highlighter pens is that they have a felt marker tip as well as a traditional highlighter tip, so you can underline and make cleaner lines. These pens come in super cute pastel colors and make your notes look prettier all on their own. Another set of popular highlighters are the Stabilo Boss Highlighters. These highlighters come in numerous color packs, the most popular being the pastels, and provide extremely saturated and fun colors.
Sticky Notes
A variety of TikTokers have been shown using these transparent sticky notes in their notes. These can be found at both Walmart and Target and can be written on like regular sticky notes. You can use them to copy down models, diagrams and charts from your textbooks and stick them directly onto your notebook pages! These are a valuable asset if you are a more visual learner, or just like to have pictures alongside your writing.
