What It’s Like Being a Brand Ambassador

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Simmons chapter.

First of all, I really love being a brand ambassador! It’s a great way to connect with people and requires a low commitment. Buying items from the brands isn’t always necessary but proves to be beneficial because you have fresh items to post about. By purchasing items or by signing up to be an ambassador for a company you’re already a customer of, you can earn points or rewards to apply to other purchases.  Being a brand ambassador is also neat because you are one step closer the brand, which means you get to know about promotions that will be happening in the future and maybe get an exclusive discount.

1. Pura Vida

Pura Vida works to provide artists with jobs. They offer an extensive collection of bracelets at affordable prices. They offer a charity collection that benefits organizations such as animal awareness,  cancer awareness, environmental causes and the military. Their charity and original bracelets are made up of colorful string bracelets that only cost $5. Their bracelets are 100% waterproof, wax-coated and have iron-coated copper “P” charm. They also offer charm bracelets with various colored bands (Although you might have to dig around the site for what you are looking for. I always discover new ones every time I do a search.)  My personal favorites are the seed bead bracelets.

To make the bracelets more affordable you can use my code MARISAN20 for 20% off at checkout. The only item this coupon does not apply to is the monthly pack. The monthly pack comes with three bracelets specific to each month and only costs 14.95. It is a good way to experiment with string, seed beads, and charm bracelets.

They are always posting giveaways often on Instagram and Facebook and I have actually won 5 free bracelets by posting a comment. and there is always a 10% and 20% discount floating around. Since becoming an ambassador, I’ve quickly become addicted to purchasing items, the only downside about this brand is that I personally feel like the delivery can be slow and that the customer service is a bit slow in responding.

What you should know about the ambassador program:

– You get your own discount code for 20% to share

– A brand ambassador package comes with 5 bracelets to start  (I haven’t received mine and I’ve been an ambassador since August)

– You get a commission! 10% of the sale goes to you and you get paid through PayPal.

Sand Cloud

Does their product look familiar? This company was featured on Shark Tank! The company is based in San Diego and their mission is to help preserve the ocean by donating part of the purchase toward marine life. The ambassadors are from all over the world. They sell apparel, towels, backpacks, stickers, and pins. Sand Cloud is most known for their mandala towels, all of their towels are made from Turkish cotton and have a sand resistant design. The clothing, on the other hand, is unisex, made from 100% cotton, and is made up of mastly crew neck fits. The company offers various sales during the major holidays. Often when the company is releasing new products, it does lots of giveaways on Facebook and Instagram.

If you want to buy something and can’t wait for the next sale, use my personal code MarisaNg25 to get 25% off at checkout.

What you should know about the ambassador program:

– Every ambassador purchase comes with a sticker and a pin.

– Personalized 25% code to share

– Extra opportunities to gain extra points to redeem online (They send out emails to gain an extra 250 points for posting)

BedShelfie

This is a new company that released an easy-to-use shelf. It’s great for small spaces or for a college dorm ;) I put mine on my headboard and it’s a great place to store my textbooks and beauty products for easy access. The product was designed with a minimalist lifestyle in mind, it comes in three colors: espresso, white, or natural, is easy to install because it uses a clamp for attachment and is made with bamboo so it’s produced from a sustainable material.

This company doesn’t have an official ambassador program but I know the person who created the BedShelfie so I promote the company as if I was a brand ambassador.
