Her Campus Siena: What brought you to Siena?
Todd Krolak: As a kid, my dad and I would go to the Men’s Siena basketball games at the ARC and I just knew from the atmosphere at the games and on campus that Siena was where I wanted to go. I also knew from early in highschool that I wanted to be an accountant and knew Siena had a good program.
HCS: What was it like transfering into Siena after being at Hudson Valley [Community College]?
TK: Siena made the process very smooth and all my credits from Hudson Valley transferred over. For me the classes were definitely more challenging than at Hudson Valley.
HCS: Was it difficult working full time while attending college?
TK: Some days it was challenging. There were days when I felt my night classes from six to nine would never end, but I think while working in the accounting field while studying accounting really helped me connect everything I was learning at Siena. In additon, my employer was very understanding with me still being in school.
HCS: What was it like to be a commuter?
TK: For me it was not bad. I would leave after my morning classes to go to work and then come back some nights for a night class. I do think I missed out on meeting new friends and the fun of dorm life, but that was the choice I made.
HCS: How does it feel to have a fellow Saint in the family now?
TK: I’m still in shock! At first I didn’t think it was a possibility. You and mom were touring schools three hours away. After the tours at Siena, and your mind was made up that Siena was your choice, I was ecstatic. We know you will get a great education at a wonderful school. On the selfish side as a dad, it makes you feel awsome that your daughter wants to follow in your footsteps.
