10 Winter Clothing Essentials for a Siena Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Siena chapter.

1. Leggings. Let’s face it, there are days when all you want to do is go to class in your pajamas. Leggings are a warm and comfy alternative and are super easy to throw on! You can dress them up with a nice shirt or throw a skirt over them, but the combination possibilities are endless.

2. Earmuffs. Keep those ears warm without getting hat hair! Earmuffs help keep you toasty, while also adding some personality to your outfit.

3. Sweaters. For the cold upstate weather, you’ll want to have a few cozy sweaters on hand. These are great for going to class or snuggling up with some hot chocolate.

4. Gloves. When going out, you’ll want to keep your hands warm and your fingers able to move. Gloves achieve both and still allow you to use your hands.

5. Fuzzy socks. Great for keeping your toes warm and cozy, while also making a statement!

6. Boots. These are a must have to go over those fuzzy socks. A pair of stylish boots can be paired casually with jeans or used to elevate a dress outfit. Plus, they’ll keep your feet warm and dry!

7. Scarves. These can be used to accessorize a plain outfit, while also keeping your neck warm. Throw on an infinity scarf for a casual look, or try a sophisticated knot to dress up an outfit.

8. Cardigans. Cardigans are a layering miracle. Use one to go over a t-shirt, especially if you’re going to be in that classroom that always has the heater on.

9. Flannel pajamas. When you’re hanging out in the dorm getting ready for bed, we all want to be as cozy and comfortable as possible. Flannel pajamas ensure maximum coziness and comfort.

10. Jackets. Last but not least, you need a jacket! This is upstate New York, and the temperature is bound to be below freezing, so button up!
