Phases of Going to the Gym and Working Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sewanee chapter.

1. Getting pumped to workout

“I haven’t worked out in 2 weeks I’m so excited I’m gonna run like 5 miles.”

2. And then getting not so excited

“Ughhhh I don’t want to do this anymore.”

3. Choosing a workout outfit
“If I look like I’m dying, I wanna at least look cute.”

4. Struggling to drag your butt to the gym

“My bed is feeling super comfy right now… Do I really need to run today?”

5. Headphones in, workout begins

“THIS IS MY JAM let’s do this, I’m gonna kill it.”

6. Giving yourself a mid workout pep talk

“DO YOU WANT CARRIE UNDERWOOD’S LEGS?? DO YOU WANT BEYONCE’S BODY?!?! PUSH YOURSELF!”

7. Starting to give up

“I absolutely regret this. Why did I decide this was a good idea?”

8. Falling into the rhythm

“I could probably go for another hour, I don’t wanna stop.”

9. Finishing and feeling so accomplished

“F’ yeah I did it, and I didn’t die!!”

10. Feeling so hungry and wanting to eat everything

“I just ate enough food to feed a small nation, but it’s fine cause I worked out.”

Remember, pain is temporary, pride is forever. Work hard and be proud of what you achieve.
