It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right? Unfortunately for me, my Spring Break started at 5 a.m. because morning flights are apparently a thing. Being at the airport in the morning is an interesting experience. Everyone is generally quiet, just trying to get through security and to their gate. There are parents trying to entertain their kids and ensuring they stay up so they can sleep on the flight. Lines for the women’s restroom wrap around and are obnoxiously longer than the men’s.

And the way people dress to get on a plane is intriguing. Older people are always dressed nicer than most; men wear suits or slacks and a button down, always appearing as though they’re about to step into a business meeting, while women wear dressy shirts and slacks. Middle aged parents wear whats most comfortable to run around children in, aka jeans and t-shirts. I like sweatpants and a t-shirt. No need to take a belt off when going through security and it’s comfortable to get some zzz’s in.

Right now I’m on my way to Barbados which would be exciting but I’ve been there and done that many times. I used to live there for five years, and while it’s an amazing vacation spot, but I’ve seen it all more than enough times. I guess the most exciting part is that I’ll be able to see friends and family, especially since it’s my great aunt’s 80th birthday. We’re having a big family reunion/ surprise birthday party for her. I’m not sure if surprising an 80 year old woman with all her relatives is a good idea health wise, but it definitely is going to be an experience.
