Holiday Drinks With a Kick

Holiday season is a time of people coming together- it brings out both the best and worst in everyone. Celebrate and prepare for whatever the holidays throw at you with a delicious drink in hand!

Apple Pie on the Rocks

What’s better than apple pie, a Thanksgiving stale? Apple pie and alcohol! Its a  festive, boozy treat that’s spicy, cool and easy-to-make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vanilla Vodka
  • 1 oz. Fireball Whiskey
  • 4 oz. Organic Apple Juice
  • Pinch of Ground Cinnamon
  • Brown Sugar for the rim (Grind a little finer for more successful sugaring)
  • Optional: Cinnamon Stick for Garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  • Wet the rim of your rocks glass just a little, and gently sugar the rim with the brown sugar.
  • In a martini shaker, pour the vodka, Fireball, apple juice and ground cinnamon together with a handful of ice cubes.
  • Shake 10 times and pour the contents into the glass without wiping off the sugar rim.
  • Serve chilled and with a cinnamon stick, for garnish.

Cranberry Margaritas

Try this classic margarita with a holiday twist! Quick, easy and delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups cranberry juice cocktail (*see note below for optional homemade cranberry juice)
  • 3/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 1/2 cup orange-flavored liqueur, such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • ice cubes

Directions:

  • Stir all ingredients together until blended.
  •  Serve over ice in sugar- or salt-rimmed glasses, garnished with fresh cranberries and lime wedges if desired.

Salted Caramel Chai Sangria

Who knew salted caramel vodka was a thing? Give it a test run with this tasty sangria.

Ingredients:

  • 750 mL EFFEN Salted Caramel Vodka
  • 750 mL cranberry apple cider
  • 1 qt. pinot noir
  • 1 qt. Tazo Chai Tea
  • 3 oz. Lemon juice
  • 2 red apples, sliced
  • 1 pt. blackberries
  • Club soda

Directions:

  • Combine vodka, cider, wine, tea, and juice in a pitcher.
  • Add fruit and stir.
  • Top with club soda.

Sugar Cookie Cocktail

Think of a grown up peppermint latte- with a cookie twist! Be warned, this little drink packs a punch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ounce peppermint schnapps
  • 1 ounce Kahlua
  • 1 ounce Bailey’s

Directions:

  • Combine the ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  • Shake thoroughly, then strain the ingredients into a chilled martini glass.

Last But Not Least…

Candy Cane Hot Chocolate

There’s no way to stay cold with this adult hot chocolate. Are you thirsty yet?

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Whipped Cream flavored vodka, you could substitute vanilla vodka
  • 1/4 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 2-3 Tbsp of Hot Chocolate Mix (or a packet or your favorite kind)
  • Whipped Cream
  • Water or Milk, whatever you prefer making your hot chocolate with
  • Candy Canes

Directions:

  • Prepare hot chocolate.
  • Add liquor, top with whipped cream and garnish with a candy cane…it’s the perfect stir stick!
