Senior Struggles

It seems like just yesterday my junior year ended. Now, five weeks until the end of fall semester, reality is hitting that it’s almost over. Where did the past four years go? Senior year is easily the best year of your college career, but it does not come without its struggles.

1.) Waking up for class
You may have told yourself that your 8 a.m. class would be okay because you’d be done early, but you were so so wrong.

2.) Looking presentable
We’ve all had those days where we question if we even look like a human being or not. The biggest struggle of all may be when you think that your baggy leggings will be okay, only to leave the house and realize that you look like a total slob.

3.) Job Searching
Wait, what? I have to apply for a job while I’m still in school? What do you mean I need five years of experience for an entry level position?

4.) Wondering if you actually like your major
Hey mom and dad, I know you spent all this money, but…

5.) Going out becomes a chore
I know, can you believe you ever even thought you would see the day? Sometimes a senior just needs a bottle of wine and Netflix to make her night perfect.

6.) Overflowing laundry
You want to wear that cute skirt your bought two months ago? Too bad it’s still sitting at the bottom of your laundry basket. Hopefully no one will notice that you’ve been wearing the same pair of jeans for the past four days.

7.) Family interrogations
Perpetually torn between being excited to go home and dreading grandma’s questions of “what are you doing after you graduate?”

Emily is a Scranton native trying to make a name for herself. She is a senior at the University of Scranton majoring in Strategic Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Finance. When she's not goofing off with her friends or spending time with her family, there is a very big chance that she's binge watching Criminal Minds on Netflix. Emily has a love-hate relationship with Moe's Southwest Grill and would probably eat chips and queso for every meal if it didn't mean that she'd have to work out afterwards. She loves being a part of Her Campus Scranton and can't wait to see what her future holds!
