Introducing HC Scranton’s Newest Campus Correspondent

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

After co-founding and launching HC Scranton it is time to pass on the title of Campus Correspondent. Running this chapter is no easy task and it takes a passionate person to act as CC. Dania is one of HC Scranton’s biggest fans and it only seemed right to pass on my HC crown to her. Read on to learn more about your newest CC Dania!

Name: Dania El- GhazalYear: 2018Major:  Strategic CommunicationHometown: Scranton, PA

HC: How does it feel that your first year as a college student is almost over?DE:  I’m so happy that I survived the year but it definitely went by fast! It’s a little bitter sweet.

HC: What is your favorite memory from this year?DE:  Becoming so close to all my new friends, as cliché as that is.

HC: What do you love most about the University of Scranton?DE: The people and the atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly!

HC: How do you feel knowing you’ll be acting as HC Scranton’s CC for the next three years?DE: I am very honored. I still can’t believe that I was given this opportunity and I am so excited for the next three years! I have big shoes to fill!

HC: What are you most excited for in running HCScranton?DE: Probably just interacting and working with the amazing girls who are a part of HC Scranton, and spreading the word more about Her Campus now that I am able to represent it in a different way.

HC: How do you think you will be able to join Samantha in making our chapter even better?DE: This was the first year for HC Scranton so I think both of us will be ready to make it bigger and better after knowing what to expect.

HC: What do you think will be the biggest challenge leading HC Scranton?DE: I think everything about it will be challenging but in a good way. I’m going to learn a lot of life lessons and skills so I’m excited to tackle these challenges. I will be in a higher position than I am now so it will be different, but I’m ready.

HC: Why do you think you and Samantha will make a great team?DE: I know that I will adapt to this position so well because of Samantha. She is actually a huge role model to me. She’s very professional and driven. I think we’ll be a perfect balance. We already have a good sense of respect towards each other, which is very important. What’s also very important is that we are both so passionate about Her Campus.

HC: What is your favorite part of Her Campus Scranton?DE:  I think seeing people, both strangers and friends, share our articles on social media. I love seeing all the feedback our page gets and it’s a good feeling to know that I’m a part of something so fun and positive.

HC: What is something people don’t know about you?DE: I’m the biggest Harry Potter fan you’ll ever meet.

Elise is a Jersey girl who loves to travel the world, she enjoys keeping up with the latest fashion trends and believes an Instagram a day keeps the doctor away. She is a senior at the University of Scranton majoring in Strategic Communication with a minor in Writing. Elise is the Campus Correspondent of Her Campus Scranton, which she co-founded in September 2014 with her best friend Samantha (every brunette needs a blonde right?) This past summer she interned in Public Relations at The Thomas Collective, a boutique lifestyle agency in New York City. When her toes are not in the sand, she’s hailing a cab or packing her bags ready to jet set anywhere and everywhere. Fun Fact: Elise is a member of Scranton’s Equestrian team.
