Here’s an Easy Holiday Style Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

With the holidays approaching, you might have all your gifts planned, ordered, and wrapped— but what about your outfits? If you are looking for some inspiration, I got you covered.

Here’s an Easy Holiday Style Guide:

1. Try a sparkly skirt paired with a baggy sweater, boots, and dramatic earrings.

2. Have a really cute slip or spaghetti strap dress? Make it appropriate for any cold weather or gathering by placing a long sleeve shirt underneath the dress or a crop sweater over the dress to give the look of a faux skirt. Finish the look with tall boots and dangle earrings.

3. Does the weather look like Jack Frost will be nipping at your nose? Fleece lined stockings are a great hack if you want to wear a dress or skirt but fear you will be too cold.

4. Looking for a “Gossip Girl” look? Try a dark colored long sleeve bodysuit with a plaid mini skirt for a chic outfit. Add a headband, pearls, and a cute bag for that extra Blair Waldorf look. Xoxo

5. Want something more simple? Monochrome outfits like dress pants and a nice blouse represent a minimalistic look that still is elegant and sophisticated. The best colors for this would be black or a color in the nude palette. Make sure to accessorize with heels and simple jewelry for a sleek look.

6. Is the party a more festive occasion but you want to avoid wearing that tacky Christmas sweater or big reindeer ears? Try applying glittery eyeshadow (red, gold, silver, green, blue) underneath your lower lash line or a colored eyeliner to demonstrate an effort to follow the festive theme but with your own fashionable twist.

Remember no matter the occasion the best holiday outfit is the one you feel the most confident in! The holidays are an exciting time so feel free to experiment with a new style that may be out of your comfort zone. Whatever your decide, enjoy your time with family and friends. Happy Holidays!
