I love fall. It’s the best time of the year and listening to music about fall or that reminds me of fall just really sets the vibe right. Here are 10 picks for my fall playlist!

Holocene by Bon Iver – Every Bon Iver song reminds me of autumn but this one takes the cake. The song sounds like it would be played in an indie movie where the main character looks out the car window during the rain. This song is always in my fall/winter rotation!

Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood – This one is explanatory. It’s called Sweater Weather. It’s about being cold and putting your hands in your sweater and being in love. It’s the perfect song for a rainy fall day.

All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version) – Recorded at Long Pond Studios by Taylor Swift – Sad Girl Autumn is in fact real. This song makes me feel like I lost my scarf at his sister’s house, and he still has it even now.

Halloween by Phoebe Bridgers – Each song on Punisher is a fall song, but since this one is called Halloween, I had to include it. It’s melancholic just like fall is and reflects how Halloween can help you be who you want.

Ribs by Lorde – A lament about growing up makes me think about how the season of fall is a sign that the year is ending. It feels scary knowing that another year has gone by, but Ribs makes me feel nostalgic for the months before.

Roslyn by Bon Iver and St. Vincent – If I could listen to this song for the first time again I 100% would. Twilight was a cultural reset. This song is a cultural reset. I want to feel like Bella Swan sitting in the same chair for months on end waiting for my mysterious vampire boyfriend to come home.

Pale September by Fiona Apple – The “embers of summer lost their breath” is the perfect lyric for the transition to autumn from summer. The song is about how time passes so quickly, which I feel perfectly resonates with autumn.

Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves – Golden hour in the fall is always so beautiful. This song’s lyrics are so beautiful too, and it makes me feel so happy.

Somewhere Only We Know by Keane – I can’t listen to this song without thinking about Glee. It reminds me of fall because of the nostalgic aspect to it, finding somewhere only we know. It also just sounds so autumn-coded.

Wasteland, Baby! By Hozier – The lyrical genius of Hozier is unmatched. I love to listen to this song when it’s cold and raining. Hozier is called the “forest king” for a reason!
