10 Life Lessons from the movie “Up!”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Doesn’t it seem like the weeks and months fly by too quickly? You may be asking yourself, “How is it already November?” When you think back to how you spent your last few months, can you say that you are happy with how you spent your time? Are you working towards your dreams? Life is a funny thing. It is unpredictable and amazing. The movie “Up” captures the importance of life and the obstacles it throws at you. We can all learn to live more fully by simply living in the moment, celebrating life, and appreciating even the smallest moments. The movie “Up” has many life lessons every person can benefit from. Below are the top 10:

  1. Adventure is out there! The sky is the limit!
  2. You’re never too old to achieve your dreams.
  3. Marry someone just as “weird” as yourself.
  4. Stay true to yourself and what you believe in.
  5. A Cumulonimbus is a storm cloud. Avoid these for safe travels especially if you ever find yourself in a floating house.
  6. Chocolate is always a good idea.
  7. Always be aware of squirrels. It’s safe to say that Doug understands us Scrantonians.

   8. A house is a home when it is filled with love.

   9. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that you love the most.

  1. It’s the people that matter in life, not the things.
