The Perfect Lazy Day Recipes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCAD chapter.

Out here in Savannah our winters are a little strange, one day it’s almost freezing and the next it’s 80 degrees. So on those days when there is nothing but rain and cold, I take advantage of every moment. I sit in my bed surrounded by a dozen or so pillows, watching Netflix or reading, or even just catching up on some work. Yet a cozy bundled up day is nothing without the perfect snacks. So here are some easy recipes for dorm friendly treats that are perfect for those lazy, rainy stay in bed all day, kind of days.

1. Peanut butter Cheerio balls.

My hall-mate made these for our super bowl party last weekend and I fell in love. They are so addictive and actually relatively healthy. Oh, and for any vegans out there, these are perfect for you!

2. Popcorn s’mores

Yes, it may be easier to just pop your popcorn and eat it straight from the bag, but this twist on regular butter popcorn combines both salty and sweet and is guaranteed to make your lazy day just that much better.

3.  Frozen Yogurt Bites

Instead of chowing down on a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, (although always a good idea), try these frozen yogurt bites. I promise they are just as good, plus are a lot healthier.

4. Cinnamon Rolls

I don’t know about you, but I definitely am one to crave Cinnabon, and unfortunately there isn’t one anywhere near me. This recipe is perfect for anyone who has the same problem, and they will also make your dorm room smell like heaven.

5. Cookie dough balls

If you have a kitchen, then first of all I’m jealous, and second of all you can make homemade cookie dough according to this amazing recipe. This dessert works just as well with any store bought cookie dough too! Just make sure it’s eggless so you don’t get sick!

Honestly, just because you’re in a dorm without a kitchen does not mean you can’t treat yourself every once and a while. These recipes are incredibly easy to make and will definitely satisfy any and all sweet cravings on a cozy day in bed!
