The Only Fall Bonaventure Bucket List You Need

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SBU chapter.

It’s that time of year again when pumpkin spice and colored leaves dominate the campus as everyone is getting ready for fall activities. Bonas and the surrounding communities host annual activities that have become traditions for everyone to participate in during the fall semester. Check out some of the crowd favorites below!  Photo Credit: Stock Photo

Keg Klash

Every year on the third weekend in September, the junior and senior classes are split into East Side and West Side, based on where they live—on or off-campus—to battle against each other to finish the most kegs. This may seem like a crazy tradition to those who are not fans of drinking, but it is a way for the students to let off a little but of steam early in the semester and to come together with their peers.

Family Weekend and Bonagany

During the last weekend of September, Bonas hosts Family Weekend while the Town of Allegany hosts Bonagany. The street festival brings together the residents of Allegany and Olean, along with the residents and staff of St. Bonaventure University for a day filled with fun activities for all ages. It’s always guaranteed to be a fun weekend with visiting family and friends, along with the fact that Mom and Dad will take you out to dinner, instead of eating at the dining hall.

Pumpkinville

Staring Sept. 17, friends and family of all ages can enjoy everything that Pumpkinville has to offer. Whether it’s picking your own pumpkins, getting lost in the corn maze, or having an apple cider slushie, you’re guaranteed to have a day filled with fun fall activities. Pumpkinville is located at 4844 Sugartown Rd., Great Valley, NY—just a few minutes from Ellicottville!

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest, also known as Fall Fest, brings together thousands of people to enjoy events that take place in the beautiful village of Ellicottville and at the Holiday Valley Resort. The three-day festival includes live music, art shows, food, carnival rides for kids, and other exciting activities at Holiday Valley.

Haunted Hayrides

For the brave souls who like haunted houses and hayrides, Nightmare Hayrides is the place for you! It features the haunted hayride, a wooden maze and haunted barn all for just $19 and about 40 minutes of scares. It’s an exciting way to get in the Halloween spirit and to face your fears.

There’s so much to do this season while the leaves are falling and the weather is slowly getting colder. So grab your friends and family and go have fun!
