With the first of December behind us, it is time for Christmas movies, holiday music, and, my favorite, giving gifts to family and friends. While this task may seem daunting to some, it’s quite the opposite. Gift giving can be fun and incredibly intimate when done correctly. Because everyone seems to have everything these days, here are my best gift suggestions for this holiday season.

Scarf and mitten set

This may seem strange because most people have winter gear already, but nothing is chicer and in this season than colorful and eccentric winter clothing. After the holidays happen, there are still a few months of bitterly cold weather. These months can be really hard for those experiencing seasonal depression or just those who dislike the winter, and color really helps to boost a mood. Giving a nice set of matching or mixed mittens and a scarf is a sure way to bring love and warmth to those you love. Zara, Forever21, Anthropologie, and Free People all have scarves and mittens for various prices, but you can really find them wherever.

Beauty box subscription

I was gifted a subscription to a beauty box for my birthday a few years ago and it was literally one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. Beauty box subscriptions are a perfect gift because the person you give one to can customize their box each month and you can decide the exact amount of time they receive it for. The two companies I would recommend are Birchbox and Ipsy. Essentially, they send out a box each month with five to six sample-size beauty products. This gift is perfect for skincare and makeup lovers or anyone curious about makeup.

Throw Pillows

This is definitely a hot gift this year. With the rise of both eccentric and minimalistic living on the rise, throw pillows are the perfect way to accessorize any living space. They also tend to be on the less expensive side, which is a total plus. For more colorful pillows, I recommend Urban Outfitters, Amazon, and TJMaxx. For more beige-y pillows, department and furniture stores are more reliable.

Amazon Gift Cards

Do I really need to explain why this is a perfect gift, especially for a college student? If Alix Earle keeps posting her GRWM videos and posting to her storefront, it’s very likely that any college student who watches her will have this on their list. You can control the amount of money you spend and it allows the person you are giving it to complete freedom to buy what they really want.

Perfume

A high quality perfume is the best gift you can give to someone, but is obviously on the more expensive side. There are a bunch of good recommendations all over social media, but this is definitely a more intimate gift. Make sure that you know what they like before committing to a bottle. I recommend Glossier You, Cheirosa 62, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, Victoria’s Secret Bare Vanilla, Gucci Memoir, Mugler Angel, and Burberry Her.

Jewelry

This is another expensive suggestion, but a nice necklace, pair of earrings, or bracelet is such a wonderful gift to receive. There are tons of brands out there to buy from and there are a bunch of advertisements on social media for jewelry sales. I recommend investing in high quality jewelry so it lasts longer and doesn’t tarnish.

ugg boots

Arguably the hottest shoes of the season, giving these is literally the best suggestion I could give you. The purple, neon green, pink, and, of course, the signature brown Uggs are a perfect gift for the fashion-forward friend in your life. While they are more expensive, they are 100% worth it.

posters

This gift is perfect for anyone in your life. From a college student to your grandmother, companies like RedBubble make sure there is something for everyone. While they can be expensive, there are a bunch of places where you can find beautiful or fun posters for your friends and family for lower prices.
