Her Campus Interview: Lucas Vaughan

Year: Junior

Major: Strategic communication

Hometown: Buffalo, NY

Favorite Food: Sushi or any type of potato

Her Campus: It seems as though everyone on campus knows your name. How did you go about making the friends that you have?

Lucas Vaughan: I’ve always been a goofy; outgoing person with few inhibitions, which I think makes it easy for people to talk to me. I’ll always make an effort to introduce myself to people and get to know them. I’m constantly looking to meet new people, because I place a high value on the friendships in my life.

Her Campus: What made you want to come to St. Bonaventure?

Lucas Vaughan: I knew Olivia’s sister who went here and loved it, so I got a good impression from her stories. Then, when I finally visited the campus, I loved the size and visual appeal, so that sealed the deal.

Her Campus: What activities do you participate in on campus? Do you think that they help you make more connections/friends?

Lucas Vaughan: I’m the secretary for our chapter of the American Marketing

Association and recently joined Enactus. These clubs have definitely helped me develop relationships; each year there are new people to meet.

Her Campus: What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Lucas Vaughan: When I’m not going out, you can usually find me watching some sort of TV show–I love television. I’m also interested in photography, but I’m an amateur.

Her Campus: What’s your favorite social media outlet?

Lucas Vaughan: Definitely Instagram. As I mentioned, I have a strong interest in photography, even if it’s just with my iPhone. I enjoy editing photos as well, so Instagram allows me to do both, all while documenting my personal and social lives.

Her Campus: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

Lucas Vaughan: In terms of a vacation, I would choose Santorini, Greece; I’ve seen pictures, and it just looks like an incredible place to see. Culturally, however, I think it would be awesome to travel to Africa.

Her Campus: What do you value more than anything?

Lucas Vaughan: My friendships–they’re basically everything to me. Everyday I wake up and honestly feel blessed that I’m surrounded by such amazing people that I can share this chapter of my life with.

Her Campus: What do you want to accomplish before you graduate?

Lucas Vaughan: I don’t know if there’s necessarily a tangible accomplishment I’m looking for. All I want is to have left a good impression on this school and its people. If I can leave after graduation and have anyone at any point think about me and smile and laugh, then I’m happy.

Her Campus: Where do you see yourself ending up after graduation?

Lucas Vaughan: I see myself out of Buffalo in another big city–maybe down south–where I can start my career, make that money and be happy.
