To The Black Girl And Black Boy

To the black boy and black girl who’s feeling worn and torn by the problems of this world. You are strong. You have the strength of your ancestors running through your veins. You have the beats of Africa pounding through our chest. You have the power to overcome what you face. Dont be discouraged. To the black girl roar like the royal lion you are, cause baby girl you are a star. To the black boy you are not the thug they say you are. You are not the tall black man being profiled, you are the tall brown tree misunderstood by this world. To the black boy and black girl the tears that fell from your beautiful brown cheeks are proof of your pain that you turned into your own overcoming story. This world wants to break you black boy and black girl but they will not succeed, because you have said your name. You voiced who you are and won’t be silenced. For you won’t be discouraged.
