If you’re anything like me, the semester is probably going a lot faster than you thought it would. Unfortunately, that means we’ll be needing a lot more study tips, homework tips, and reminders for those papers and tests coming up soon.

  1. Don’t study on your bed. Preferably go out of your room (beehive, rogo, etc), if you can’t leave, study on your desk. Find your place at SAU to study (I personally love sitting in the beehive since it is not too quiet but quiet enough).
  2. Make a plan. Going in without knowing what you have to study for, makes it way longer than it needs to be. Make lists! I like making sticky notes on my laptop but if you prefer planners or reminders, go for it.
  3. Find the best time of day. If you’re a morning person, go to bed early and wake up to study! If you know you can’t get up most mornings, don’t trick yourself into thinking you will this time, study at your best time, everyone is different.
  4. Don’t cram. I know it’s always said but cramming doesn’t help anyone. The night before a big exam, take some time to review big concepts, staying up all night will just create more problems even staying awake during the exam, take it easy.

Try to find what works best for you and your schedule. There unfortunately will be all-nighters and that’s normal but don’t overwhelm yourself. Don’t make it a habit to sleep only 4 hours, change up some habits while you can. Hope this semester has been going great and let’s keep it going!
