The Do’s and Don’ts of Halloween Costumes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

With this Saturday being Halloween, I’m sure everyone is gathering up their last minute costume pieces. I’m here to give you a few tips on what to wear and what not to wear this Halloween weekend.

1. DO pick a creative costume idea. Dress up as something that not everyone has done before. It’ll make for better conversation and Instagram captions.

2. DON’T wear something super tight fitting with minimal clothing. You will regret being uncomfortable all night and freezing.

3. DO put in effort when designing your costume. If you’re going to dress up, do it right. Don’t just buy a shirt and write on it (unless it’s supposed to be like that).

4. DON’T spend a butt load of money on a costume–it’s not worth it. You can easily put together a cute and clever costume without spending $80.

To get the best out of your Halloween weekend consider some of these tips. And don’t forget to load up on candy too–it’s the only time it’s exceptable to.
