As if the mental breakdowns and sleep deprivation weren’t enough…

Finals week kicks our ass in lots of ways. Something that you may have been neglecting lately because you’ve been so busy is taking care of your skin. The easiest way to avoid stress breakouts is to avoid stress, but we all know that is impossible. So, here are some tips for this week to keep your skin happy and healthy.

1. Load up on healthy snacks.

Put down the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Reese’s! Not skipping out on meals and choosing healthier options is important this week. Things like nuts, fruits, and popcorn will keep you full and focused at the library for hours. They’ll also curb your cravings for salty snacks and chocolate later on in the day.

2. Don’t skip out on washes.

As tempting as it is to jump into bed and pass out after a long day, stay strong. Not washing your face before bed is probably the worst thing you can do. And plus, waking up in the morning with an extra dirty face won’t leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day.

3. Treat. Yo. Self.

Take time out of your day to pamper yourself. Try a facemask from the drugstore, they’re super cheap and they’ll help you unwind.

4. Get enough sleep.

As I sit here trying to keep my eyes from rolling in the back of my head…I know, I’m slightly hypocritical. Finding time to sleep can be a challenge, but your sanity and your skin will thank you if you get at least 8 hours a night.

5. Get some fresh air.

With the unseasonable weather we’ve been having lately, this should be pretty easy to do! Take a 20 minute study break and walk around campus.

Prioritizing our time this week is crucial. Studying definitley is the #1 priority, but spend a few extra minutes planning out your day’s schedule to try these tips. Good luck on finals, collegiettes!
