Wearing brighter colors will help lighten up your mood according to Analyzing Color in Your Wardrobe by Thelma Thompson.

Luckily for you, this year’s spring trends are all about bright and bold colors! Often, we chose what to wear each day by how we feel, and let’s face it SFSU ladies, living in this gloomy weather does not help one bit. Here are a few spring trends that will help brighten up your wardrobe and mood.

The bold mini skirt.
H&M has great bright and bold colored miniskirts ranging from $5.95 to $12.95. San Francisco ladies you know what to do, just add leggings.

A form fitting pink blazer.
Not only is a blazer essential to any closet, pink is known to be the most calming of colors. In fact, some of the most dangerous criminals are placed in pink cells because the color calms aggression. According to a study titled “Room Color and Aggression in a Criminal Detention Cell: A Test of the “Tranquillizing Pink” Hypothesis.

This might be good to wear during finals week!

A fun sailor striped inspired top.
Striped tops are usually designed in contrasting colors, which are pleasing to the eye.

If this season’s bold colors scare you, try to starting out small with accessories instead. A little pop of color can go a long way in helping to brighten up your mood and style.
