My Fall Season Skin Care Routine

The weather is getting colder, the air a little dryer, and if you’re a fellow oily, acne prone skin person like me, removing excess oil while trying not to dry out your skin is a constant battle. Here are the products I use during the fall season in an attempt to keep my skin as balanced and healthy as possible.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Facial Cleanser with Salicylic Acid (Morning/Night)

As a person blessed with oily skin, this is a holy grail product for me and the beginning of my skincare routine in the morning and night. The salicylic acid dissolves excess oil, it does leave me slightly dry, but paired with the right moisturizer it helps manage my oil and minimize breakouts. It’s refreshing and a great product.

La Roche-Posay Serozinc Face Toner (Morning)

After washing my face I follow up with this toner that is amazing at keeping my oil managed for almost the whole day. I notice my face is significantly less oily with this product and it comes in a very convenient and easy to use spray bottle.

La Roche-Posay Matte Face Moisturizer (Morning/Night)

This provides the perfect amount of moisture after the first two steps in my skincare which can both be slightly drying. It is not greasy and provides my skin with just the right amount of dewiness.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream | Body and Face Moisturizer (Night)

In the morning I try to set myself up to control my oil as best as possible, but in the night I opt for a slightly thicker moisturizer so I wake up more dewey and moisturized. I go very light with this one because it is incredibly thick and too much can leave me slightly greasy.

The Ordinary Peeling Solution (1-2x a week/ Night)

In order to minimize breakouts, I use this chemical peel mask to exfoliate. It slightly burns as it is exfoliating dead skin cells, but I immediately notice a smoother, brighter complexion after using this. It is incredibly drying so I only recommend using 1-2 times a week. I also recommend using this at night because you are more prone to sunburn and sun damage immediately using this mask.
