You just recently moved here from LA. How do you like San Francisco so far?

San Francisco has always been home to me. I made a promise when I moved to Los Angeles back in 2004, that I would return to the Bay Area for school. Being back here has always struck a nostalgic chord, you’ll find me munchin’ on cinnamon sugar covered mini donuts over at the Wharf.

What do you like most about SFSU?

San Francisco State has numerous opportunities for BECA majors, and with the culturally diverse student body, you may learn a thing or two from someone new. Though the campus may be more on the west side in San Francisco, the heart of the city is just a quick train ride away. Students at San Francisco State are very focused as well, an environment I feel best suits my drive and motivation without any distractions.

What activities are you involved in on campus?

I am the host of the KSFS Radio Breaking BECA segment titled, “Hidden Gems with Angelo Gepiga”. The segment airs live every other Wednesday at 3 p.m. on ksfsmedia.net/radio. I initially crafted the food series back in high school in Los Angeles, focusing on showing students and their families hole-in-the-wall restaurants and food trucks scattered around town. Luckily, KSFS Radio director Heather McCloskey picked up the show, and I adapted Hidden Gems to the radio medium! I’ve been thankful ever since. Alongside Hidden Gems, I DJ at the Cesar Chavez Student Center on campus every Tuesdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.. The event is sponsored by cityhabits.com. Lastly, I am a College Students in Broadcasting member.

What’s your favorite Hidden Gem so far?

Easily HRD Coffee Shop over in South Park. It was the perfect way to start the season with a sweet and spicy kick. Order the Sloppy Jojo and slather the fries with the restaurant’s homemade Gojuchang sauce.

What’s a motto that you live by?

“Game over.”

3 words to describe yourself:

Emphatic, Dramatic, Romantic (Hopelessly)

What qualities do you look for in a girl?

Women have the interesting ability to create endless possibilities for you and your future. This potential only happens by taking chances. I look for a girl who can stimulate me intellectually, eat plates on plates of delicious food, and is not afraid to push me away. That’s all. Dimples are a bonus.

What’s your ideal first date?

A car ride. I’d tell her to bring some CDs. Hip-Hop please.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?

Sending postcards, letters too. And I still do. I’m a believer in the old-fashioned. Didn’t The Notebook teach us anything? That movie is a classic. I might have watched the rain scene over 57 times.
