Tina Fey has Amy Poehler, Michael Scott has Dwight Schrute, and the iconic cartoon character Calvin has Hobbes. But, what about USD’s very own cool cat of a cutie, Louis Benson? Well he, ladies and gents, has his right hand man, a brother from the same mother, his younger brother, Alex Benson. This past week, we caught up with the Benson brothers and got the scope on what life with the two cuties is like!

HC: Where are you two cool-cats from?
Evergreen Colorado.
HC: You guys are always around campus! What are you two busy bees involved in on campus?
L: University Ministry Tijuana day trip leader, Students for Life, Climbing team and Beta.
A: Search Retreat Leader, University Ministry Tijuana day trip leader, Beta, Climbing team, Outdoor Adventures, and Students for life.
HC: Do you spend a lot of time together?
L: Oh yeah. We’re kind of stuck. Since we live together.
HC: What’s your favorite part about going to school with your brother?
L: There aren’t a lot of people weird like him or me so we can do a lot of the same things together. It’s cool getting to do a lot of the things not a lot of people want to do with him.
A: Your brother is like your best friend. Like Louis said, we like a lot of the same things which is cool. It’s awesome because you always know of someone who is going to be down to go on a trip or just hang out.
HC: Do people ever tell you guys that you look alike? [We think they do…]
L: Yes and no. We are 50/50 Mexican and white. I got most of the light side and he got more of the darker. Oh, the SLP workers think we’re twins!
HC: Louis, if we told you to describe Alex using three words, what would those words be?
L: Intuitive, punky, and like a mountain man: stoic.
HC: How about you Alex? What are three words you would use to describe Louis?
A: Creative, goofy, and intelligent.
HC: What’s next for the Benson brothers? What are you two looking forward to this year?
L: I really want to do my very first rocky horror picture show! I’m looking forward to more adventures to come.
A: To explore more of Southern California and Mexico.
HC: So men, got a celebrity crush?
L: What’s that one princess.. oh yeah, Kate Middleton.
A: I guess… hmm, the classic Jennifer Lawrence.
HC: What qualities do you look for in a girl?
L: That she’s open to new things. Someone who is more excited for the experience… not the photo.
A: Someone who’s really caring towards others. Oh, and someone who doesn’t mind camping, going on an adventure, and someone who can laugh at my jokes.
HC: Lastly, what is your relationship status? Are you two handsome lookers single?
L: Yup.
A: Yes.
