A Letter to My Mom and Dad

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

Mom and Dad,

There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am to the both of you. You are the best parents any daughter could ever ask for. With graduation being around the corner I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with the amount of love I have for each of you. You both have constantly made sacrifices to provide me with the best life possible, I am not sure how I will ever be able to repay you.

Here are a few things I’d like to thank you for:

Thank you for always supporting me

Thank you for teaching me to focus on the positive

Thank you for giving me the best older sister

Thank you for reminding me to always put my health first

Thank you for teaching me that family is always first

Thank you for allowing me to be independent

Thank you for always giving me the best advice

Thank you for teaching me that grades are not everything

Thank you for funding my love for travel

Thank you for always being a phone call away

Thank you for providing me with everything I need and would ever want

Thank you for raising me to include others instead of excluding others

Thank you for always encouraging me

Thank you for surprise dinner dates

Thank you for listening to me complain about my life problems

Thank you for encouraging me to follow my passions

Thank you for teaching me to stand up for myself

Thank you for loving me unconditionally (even when I hit the mailbox)

Thank you for giving me four years at my dream college

The list goes on and on. Home is not a building or a certain location on a map, it is the feeling that I get when I am with you. Thank you for being my parents, I am so lucky to have you in my life.

Love,

Your Daughter

here to express never to impress.
