Everyone’s ideas can often be considered unconventional. Because of that, we have learned to be brave, and stand up for the way we see things. We can usually make our case about our beliefs, whether anyone else gets it or not, by exuding confidence and persistence. As students, we have a commanding voice and ask to be taken seriously. And while, it is sometimes difficult to risk the pride we have mustered over twenty-one years of life, we are exhilarated when we put ourselves out of our comfort zone.
“There is no such thing as bravery, there are only degrees of fear” says an anonymous quoter on tumblr.
We discuss it all the time. What is bravery? It is defined by courage. Well, what is courage?
Webster says it is: The ability to do something that frightens one. Or strength in the face of pain or grief.
As Dr. Steve Maraboli puts it, “It takes bravery to recognize, where in your life you are your own poison…it takes courage however, to do something about it.”
Our concept of bravery is harnessed through experience. No matter what scholars define it as, we should all reach for being our best selves.
Today, get out there and make yourself BRAVE!
