Why Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday

For years now, whenever someone asks me what my favorite holiday is and I respond Thanksgiving, I tend to get some interesting looks. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for so many reasons and I can’t wait to celebrate it this week.

One of the reasons I love Thanksgiving so much is because of the time of year. Fall is my favorite season and I love the colder weather, the leaves changing, and the cozy atmosphere that fall brings with it. Another thing I love about the time of year of Thanksgiving is that it is right in between Halloween and Christmas. This time of year is the best because there is so much to look forward to and it’s finally starting to get cold outside so you can bundle up in big sweaters and blankets.

In addition, Thanksgiving is all about spending time with the people you love, giving thanks for everything you have in your life, and of course the food! My family always goes all out for Thanksgiving and we have everything from of course turkey to mac and cheese, potatoes, pies, cookies, themed drinks and so much more.

Another reason I love Thanksgiving is Black Friday shopping. I love shopping and I am always really successful on Black Friday and normally I can get all of my Christmas and holiday shopping done for everyone on my list.

Finally, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it falls on a Thursday. For as long as I can remember, Thursdays have been my favorite day of the week. While growing up Thanksgiving was the best because that week of school was always wicked fun and exciting, as we only had school on Monday Tuesday and a half day Wednesday. The half day on Wednesday my friends and I would host a friendsgiving where we would each bring something to eat and hang out all night before Thanksgiving the next day (which we are still doing this year). Then when the day is over on Thursday, it’s so nice to realize that you still have the full weekend ahead of you.

As Thanksgiving and the holiday season is approaching very fast, make sure to spend time with the people you love, tell your loved ones how thankful you are for them, and appreciate all that you have in your life.
