We all have one. It may be leggings and letters, a favorite pair of jeans and an oversized sweater, all black everything, or a simple dress. Pretty much, it’s a compilation of all the basic and trendy things we own that say “I’m trying hard to look like I don’t care.”
It’s the outfit you ultimately end up wearing after tearing apart your closet for half an hour. When in doubt, we all know it’s going to come down to this. You know, that outfit that’s got you like, “wait, did I wear this two days ago? I can’t even remember. But everyone in my block class might…” Sometimes you worry that people are picking up on your much-worn, go-to outfit. You literally wear it ~all~ the time. The relationship is too serious to be stopped now though, so it’s a fleeting thought.
Whatever it is, your go-to outfit is an important part of your life. It says a lot about you. Your recurring “I-might-be-going-to-the-gym-after-this” look. The expected “I-only-shop-at-Urban” look. Or, the all too familiar “I-thought-this-was-G-Star” look.
As girls, we are often critiqued by the male population for being “all the same” (sidenote: no). But if wearing Lululemon’s and Brandy on the daily is wrong, then I never want to be right. Some may call it basic- we’d prefer “passionate about staple pieces.”
So, to the 10% of my wardrobe that I actually wear, thanks for being my go-to. You the bae-est.
