Top 5 Starbucks Drinks with Hacks & Discounts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

It’s that time of year again: colorful leaves littering the ground, cozy sweaters wrapped around your body, and of course, mugs full of limited edition fall drinks at Starbucks. Fall means back to the basics: back to pumpkin spice.

Yet, as much as we love a good old classic pumpkin spice latte, it is always fun to switch it up. In honor of the fall season—and undoubtedly the season of warm drinks—here are 5 of our favorite Starbucks beverages and some college girl coffee hacks to get you ready for the fall season.

Go-to Starbucks Drinks

  1. Regular coffee, 4 packets of stevia, and a quarter cup of almond milk
  2. Iced matcha latte with oat milk and add strawberry cream cold foam
  3. Iced chai latte with pumpkin syrup
  4. Iced brown sugar shaken espresso with pumpkin cold foam
  5. Apple pie drink: grande iced chai with almond milk, vanilla sweet cream foam, 2 pumps apple brown sugar

Hacks for Broke Girl Milk Tea:

I love boba tea, but sometimes, especially for the average college student, it can break the bank. Spending close to $8 for a single drink isn’t always doable, but when the craving hits and you can’t get to a boba spot, run over to your school’s dining hall and make this drink. Even though it is missing the beloved tapioca pearls, it still is a sweet drink that satisfies!

  • Fill your cup with ice and sweet or black tea
  • Pour in your creamer of choice (I tend to go for french vanilla and almond milk)
  • Add sugar until you reach the desired sweetness and enjoy!

Starbucks discounts:

Believe it or not, you can get a discount on your drink every time you go to Starbucks. All you have to do is bring in your reusable cup and you will receive a $0.10 discount! This hack is great for the environment and your pockets (win-win)! Download the app to collect stars and redeem points for free drinks or other merch.
