We can’t believe it’s almost time for graduation here at Rutgers! It seems like just last week was the beginning of the spring semester, but now here we are struggling our way through finals and counting down the days until the school year is over. This May, six of our executive board members at HC Rutgers will be signing off and graduating! Each of these powerful women have helped shape HC Rutgers into what it is today, and we couldn’t be more thankful for their hard work as we get ready to say goodbye to some of our girl bosses.
Alexis Martin – Campus Correspondent
Aarushi: Alexis, I’ve always appreciated that you’ve been the most positive person in the room, even when things weren’t always going well. I also love that we have the same humor and are always able to laugh together. Thank you for the hard work you put into our chapter throughout the year. I’ll miss laughing with you but good luck with the next chapter of your life!
Cassidy: I’ve loved having you as one of our campus correspondents this year! You’ve been extremely helpful in bringing in additional opportunities for our members to become involved with, and with coming up with creative theme ideas for both our official events at Rutgers and our bonding events for all of the Her Campus members. I’ve really enjoyed some of our conversations about the struggles of being a student at Rutgers, and you’ve been such a personable individual to talk to for all of our members. Your empowered nature is really inspiring to be around, and I can’t wait to see what you do in the future!
Catherine: Hi Alexis, it was awesome having you as campus correspondent this year! You were always really upbeat and creative, especially when it came to the graphics that you made for the Powerpoints. I know you’re going to do great things after Rutgers, and hopefully you visit us during our alumni events! Best of luck, and congratulations on graduating!
Keoni Nguyen – Campus Correspondent
Aarushi: I don’t know how many thanks are enough for everything you’ve done for this organization and our chapter. You’ve worked so hard for Rutgers Her Campus and it definitely showed throughout the year. Beyond that, I want to thank you for always making me feel so comfortable and understood throughout the year. You were always the best person to turn to and talk about whatever I was feeling. I’ll miss you so much and it was such a pleasure to work with you this year!
Cassidy: You’re hands down one of the hardest working people I’ve ever known – I honestly don’t know how you were able to do as much for the club as you did this year. And that just shows the amount of passion and dedication you had for Her Campus Rutgers! Seeing you work as hard as you have all semester towards making our organization as best as it could be truly been inspirational to watch. From editorial to events and always being there to help out and talk to anyone who needed it, I’m sure everyone involved with HC Rutgers wants to thank you for everything you’ve done. I wish you the best in the future with everything you do!
Catherine: Keoni I love you so much… thank you for essentially being my mom (along with Hannah) and basically adopting me as a freshman who was kind of lost with the whole college process. You are both one of the most fun and hardworking people I know: literally the definition of work hard, play hard. You taught me how to be a better leader, and I am so grateful to have had you as campus correspondent this year. Good luck, not that you’re gonna need it!

Aarushi: Hannah, I’ve always admired your strong work ethic and kindness. You’ve worked so hard this year to put the best articles and make sure everyone’s voice is heard and published. I loved talking to you during our meetings and I’ll miss you! Good luck with wherever life takes you, I know you’ll definitely kill it!
Cassidy: I don’t think I would have wanted to work with anyone else but you all year long on our editorial team! You always thought up creative and unique articles to fit every theme week we did, and were incredibly dedicated to ensuring that we always had at least one article to publish every day – no matter what was going on in your busy schedule. On top of that, you’ve been extremely caring and patient with each of our writers throughout the entire school year and have truly gone the extra mile with helping out the club in every way that you could. I can only hope that next year we’ll continue to spread some of the positive vibes that you always brought!
Catherine: Hannah! You are literally the reason why I became secretary of Her Campus. Thank you for pushing me beyond my comfort zone, and always being so friendly. I’ve had a lot of fun with you (and Keoni) this year; you two are basically like my parents lol… anyways, you are going to be the absolute best doctor and when I’m older I will go only to you for my medical needs! I’m going to miss you and Keoni so much when you graduate, please come visit!

Cassidy: I’ve loved scrolling through our social media feeds, and especially our Instagram page, each day to see all of the great content you were posting! Your dedication towards not only maintaining our accounts but spreading our social media presence at Rutgers has really helped expand the network of our club online. From hanging out at meetings and events to trying (and failing – at least in my case) to learn how to salsa dance at the event we co-sponsored, I’m always in for a good laugh whenever I talk with you! You’re such a fun and nice person to be around, and I wish you the best in the future!
Catherine: Taylor, you are so aesthetic when it comes to everything: outfits, social media and just overall makeup. I really admire the hard work you put in to making sure our Instagram and Facebook game was top notch. Best of luck in the future, and congratulations!

Aarushi: Wynne, I remember meeting you last year at my first ever Her Campus meeting. It’s crazy to think that you’ll know be graduating soon. Thanks for all the hard work you put into making sure our events are a success! Good luck in the future, Her Campus Rutgers will definitely miss you!
Cassidy: I honestly can’t remember a time being involved with Her Campus Rutgers when you weren’t there! The first moment I even heard about Her Campus was from talking with you at the Involvement Fair back in 2017, and I still remember the cool glittery eyeshadow you were wearing because I’d wanted to find a way to recreate that look. Who knew a year later we’d be writing an article together about our bold makeup looks? You’ve been instrumental in developing our events throughout the year, and are such a genuine and kind person. I’ll always enjoy our conversations during our almost weekly run-ins at the Art Library – even when they happen as I’m putting together this article and trying to not act suspicious. Good luck with everything!
Catherine: Wynne, you are so cool… like, all of your outfits are always so on point and I always make a mental note in my head about trying to recreate your style. Thanks for coordinating all our events and being so sweet, best of luck to you in the future!

Aarushi: Zeal, you have one of the most important jobs (you handle all the money so duh!) and you do it so well. You’re such a hard worker and you’ve done so much for Her Campus. Thank you for always doing the very best in your role and going above and beyond whenever it was needed. You’ll definitely be missed and I wish you the very best for your future endeavours!
Cassidy: I had so much fun getting to know you more this year after both being members of the club last year! You’ve really dedicated so much of your time to Her Campus this year, whether that be for your position as treasurer or for helping ensure that all of our events run smoothly. I’m really grateful for all that you’ve done for us, and there’s so much that we wouldn’t have been able to do without you! You’ve always been such a great person to talk to during meetings and our bonding events, and I know you’ll continue to do great things in the future!
Catherine: You make money moves… haha anyways Zeal, you are definitely a really driven person and I admire that. Majoring in economics and communication? That’s tough, but also really cool. I’ve had a lot of fun talking to you during tabling events, and know you’re going to do great whatever you decide to do. I’m gonna miss you!
Here’s to wishing each of you the best in whatever future endeavors you take on after graduating from Rutgers. We can’t wait to watch you all move on to bigger and better things!
