Her Campus College Fashion Week:

Ever want to live the life of a celebrity? Want to get your hair and makeup done by professionals? College Fashion Week is the place to be. I joined Her Campus a little over a month ago and every meeting we were told about the infamous Her Campus College Fashion Week being held in October. This past weekend, the day finally arrived. The event had been even better than I had anticipated.

The Arrival:

From the moment I stepped foot into the building, I knew I was in for a luxurious experience. The word that instantly came to mind was glamorous. When first being greeted they asked for my name and handed me two bags filled with amazing swag. The sponsors for College Fashion Week were amazing and seemed to be endless. The sponsors loaded the bags with countless goodies including gifts from Ulta, Primark, Eos, and many more! This bag provides all you need for an instant glam.

Photo Opportunities:

College Fashion Week was chalk full of picture perfect opportunities. There were several small rooms that were set up with the lovely accent of a ring light for the perfect lighting as a finishing touch. Pictured below my friend and I took a picture in a ball pit made up entirely of Eos! Believe or not but you definitely I sink right into those Eos (it’s deeper than you think). Additionally, there was no need to worry about awkwardly asking someone to take your picture for you because Her Campus had people working each photo spot, specifically for taking the perfect snapshot of you and your friends!

Fashion Show:

Ever since I was little I have always wanted to go to a fashion show. The feeling of exclusivity of seeing the latest fashion for the upcoming season was something I always craved for. Possessing the opportunity to see a real fashion show in New York City was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I really loved how Her Campus used college girls with all different body types as models for the fashion show. I truly feel that it is crucial for women of all sizes to be represented in fashion because society is constantly shaming women for their appearance. Her Campus did a phenomenal of representing women of all body types and providing a positive environment for all young women. The clothing the models were wearing was from Primark. The clothing was so cute! I loved the layered fall look that each of the models wore. I was certainly inspired by the fashion show to implement some of the same styling techniques in my own wardrobe.

Overall Experience:

The time I spent at College Fashion Week was the most fun I have had in a long time!  I was able to have my hair done like a celebrity. There were so many opportunities to network with other powerful women and to enjoy a day to feel pampered; not to mention the immense amount of free swag I got from the event. College Fashion Week is an amazing time for everyone and I can’t wait to go next year!
